The Scarlet Liskotoc

One of my concepts for a dragon: The Scarlet Liskotoc. It is part of a family of wyverns that ancestrally flew, but traded up their wings for a grounded, predatory foraging lifestyle; typically preying on small-medium vertebrates. The tails of this striking species closely resemble the foliage that these creatures live around; which are the open woodlands and forests of west Africa. Unlike other dragon families which can spray a burning liquid from their mouths (with a chemical compound similar to that seen in the spray of the Bombardier Beetles), the Liskotocs utilize a venomous bite or a lethal kick to dispatch prey and would-be attackers. The Scarlet Liskotoc is a medium sized member of the family; growing up to around 5-5.5 meters (16-18 feet) in length, and standing as tall as an average human man.
